Parking & Transportation
Parking
On-Site Parking at USA Baseball
USA Baseball and Thomas Brooks Park are unique in that the facility provides 900 parking spots. Parking passes are available during registration for $5.
Reserved parking passes must be picked up in person at the expo and will include directions to one of the specific parking lots with our recommended directions to the parking area.
Parking passes for the two lots (USA Baseball or Thomas Brooks) will be different colors and clearly identified with the lot name. and you must park in your assigned lot.
Off-Site Parking at NetApp
Participants will park at NetApp and use Cisco lots as overflow locations. These lots are located across the street from the NetApp main lot. Those using the Cisco lots will walk to the corner of Kit Creek Rd and Louis Stephens Drive where they will board the buses.
“Professional parkers” will be at NetApp to assist parking and volunteers will be onsite directing runners and spectators to the bus pickup area on Louis Stephens at Kit Creek.
Pre-Race Bus Transportation
Beginning at 4:00am, 30 large 50-passenger buses will line up on Louis Stephens Dr. just north of Kit Creek Rd. To facilitate getting the buses out of the NetApp area in the morning hours, Louis Stephens Dr. north of Kit Creek will be temporarily closed.
Buses will begin driving at 4:30am. Between 4:30am and 5:30am only runners with a race bib will be allowed on the buses. Spectator shuttling begins at 6:00am and will continue until the race is over.
Additional “professional parkers” with experience in loading and unloading, along with volunteers, will assist with the efficient loading of the buses to minimize delays.
Post-Race Transportation
Beginning at 9:00am, 30 buses will be available to return runners to the off-site parking area dropping them at the bus staging area on Louis Stephens Dr. and then returning to the USA Baseball complex.
-
10 buses will be at USA Baseball waiting to load
- 20 will be parked at Wake Memorial Park, about 1 mile from USA Baseball
Buses will be parked at inside the main USA Baseball parking lot in the far back section to prevent traffic issues on Green Hope School Road.
There will be “professional parkers” to load passengers onto the buses. Bus drivers will remain seated until the bus is full.
Note that in 2012, runners will approach the finish chute from Thomas Brooks Drive, thus leaving the Baseball Complex main entrance free for cars and buses.
